RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK – Apple plans to delay the return of workers to its offices until January, but retail stores are remaining open, according to a report from Bloomberg News.

A check of websites for Apple stores in North Carolina found that the retail outlets are open. There are two in the Triangle. Other locations are open in Charlotte and the Triad.

Citing a memo by Apple human resources and retail executive Deirdre O’Brien, Bloomberg said workers won’t go back to offices in October as previously scheduled.

Bloomberg noted that O’Brien said Apple did not expect to close stores as it had last year during the outbreak of the pandemic.

Apple declined comment about the memo, the wire service added.

Apple also is not requiring workers to be vaccinated but is stepping up teestin, Bloomberg noted.
