RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK – Avaya, which moved its headquarters to the Triangle last year, has made a strategic investment in Journey.Ai, a Denver, CO-based developer of a digital trusted identity platform.

The startup company drawing the investment from Avaya enables enterprise companies to transact with clients and customers securely, Avaya noted in a statement.

In less than two seconds, the platform developed by the startup can confirm identity using multi-modal biometric technology.  The accuracy is “99.9999%” according to a statement issued by Avaya.  That’s one wrong result in 1,000,000.

“Journey’s innovation in Zero Knowledge, coupled with core Avaya Contact Center offerings address critical components of the customer experience along with the privacy and security requirements faced by contact centers,” said David Austin, Avaya GVP of Corporate Development in a statement. “This strategic investment in an ecosystem partner enhances key security capabilities for our global customers, and is bringing additional industry-leading innovation into the Avaya OneCloud platform.”

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, and the transaction closed earlier this month, Avaya noted.
