CORNELIUS – Barvecue plant-based barbecue products are now available nationwide, thanks to an expansion into 360 Sprouts Farmers Market locations, the company says.

Each of the 360 Sprouts locations will carry the company’s Pulled BVQ product, which is a pre-sauced, gluten-free, plant-based barbecue product, that will appear in the frozen section.

Sprouts is headquartered in Arizona, and has two Triangle locations, one in South Durham and one in North Raleigh.

Barvecue announced the expansion in a statement, also noting that the company is experiencing incredible growth this year.

New ‘Carolina Smokehouse’ putting a different spin on barbecue – it’s plant based

“2021 has been a strong year for Barvecue. In a year of incredible growth and expansion, distribution across the United States with our delicious, plant-based, wood-smoked Barvecue in 360 Sprouts Farmers Markets is one of this year’s most important milestones,” said Lee Cooper, founder and CEO of Barvecue.

A Bloomberg report estimated that the value of the plant-based food market will increase to $162 billion globally by 2030.

The company brought in $780,000 in funding earlier this year and announced a 10,000 square foot expansion in Cornelius that it calls the “Carolina Smokehouse.”
