DURHAM – Valdivia Logistics, a transportation and shipping company headquartered in Atlanta, will close three Durham County sites, affecting 131 employees, according to a notice filed with the NC Department of Commerce.

The sites listed in the notice are on Hoover Road, Briggs Avenue, and TW Alexander Drive, all in the 27703 zip code.

The most recent WARN report from the Department of Commerce states that all three facilities will be a “closure permanent” and that some 40 employees at each site may be affected.

The North Carolina Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) requires companies to file a notice when they have announced plans to either close a facility or conduct a mass personnel layoff.

The notice the company filed with the Department of Commerce, which was obtained by WRAL TechWire upon request, reads:

“We will no longer be operating at the following locations, on October 16, 2021, and all employees will be impacted. This closure is expected to be permanent. All affected employees have been notified of this closure and the expected date of the first separation will be October 16, 2021.”

The notice indicates that 131 employees will be impacted, including three site leads, four dispatchers, and 124 delivery associates.

The company could not be reached for comment.
