Amazon announced Monday that it is adding 150,000 seasonal jobs this year, with an average starting pay of $18 per hour.

The company says sign-on bonuses of up to $3,000 and an additional $3 per hour will be offered depending on the work-hours in many locations.

Seasonal workers provide support for full-time employees in over 250 fulfillment centers, sorting centers, regional air hubs, and delivery stations that opened in the US this year.

The additional jobs will also help to deliver to customers in a timely manner as well as provide flexibility to full-time employees during busy periods.

Amazon says new employees will undergo training to follow strict COVID-19 health and safety protocols.

North Carolina is one of the primary states with the highest number of seasonal roles.
