RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK – Contract research organization startup Portreet Pharmaceuticals has launched a new lab that specializes in the analytical testing of small molecule active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs).
The company, which opened its doors earlier this year in Wilmington and currently has three employees, will provide method development, evaluation and compendial testing.
Portreet is targeting customers that range from virtual pharmaceutical companies to biotechnology startups. According to the organization, it offers clients quick and cost-effective turn-around on both testing and method development.
Portreet’s founder and CEO is Kimberly Lupo. She is a veteran of the pharmaceutical industry who previously worked for Metrics Contract Services, a division of Mayne Pharma, Inc.
“When I came up with the concept for Portreet Pharmaceuticals, my goal was to provide quality testing with a unique customer service experience,” she said. “I believe we achieved that, and we are ready to help those businesses achieve their goals.”
