RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK – International tech and industrial giant Toshiba’s reorganization announced early Friday is not expected to impact Triangle-based Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions. In fact, the company focusing on retail commerce solutions such as point-of-sale technology, is growing. And hiring.
So explains Fredrik Carlegren, Vice President of Marketing, in an exclusive exchange with WRAL TechWire.
“Based in part on the strategic importance and sustained growth in our retail business, Toshiba Corporation has publicly announced that it will continue to hold the shares of Toshiba Tec Corporation,” Carlegren said via email, noting Commerce Solutions is part of Toshiba Tec Corporation.

“Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions remains focused on continuing to provide world-class solutions, service and support for our clients worldwide with no operational change or impact based on the recent Toshiba Corporation news,” he added in resopnse to an inquiry from TechWire.
Business is growing, too, and the company is hiring, he added.
