FAYETTEVILLE – Fayetteville is also getting into the action when it comes to co-working space craze.
Today, Eastern Foundry, a veteran-owned co-working space developed for government contractors and based out of Virginia, announced that it plans to open an office in the city this fall.
Best known as the “home of Fort Bragg,” a major Army installation northwest of the city, the office is expected to be a boost to government contractors in the area.
“We can’t wait to show Fayetteville what Eastern Foundry can do for their business community,” added Andrew Chang, Eastern Foundry’s co-founder, said in a statement. “As an Army veteran, I know how important the units and contractors in and around Fort Bragg are to our nation, so I’ve wanted to open a location here for years. The access to government tailored business support services can act as a major catalyst to any business looking to grow.”
The group will be holding a meet-and-greet question and answer session in downtown Fayetteville on Thursday, June 27 at 4pm.
Back in 2014, veterans Chang and Geoff Orazem teamed up to figure out a better way for how the government procures goods and services.
Their underlying belief: “the government needed to work with the most innovative, nimble, agile and fierce companies — not the most connected,” according to its website.
And so Eastern Foundry was born.
It is believed to be the first-of-its-kind small business workplace and accelerator for the government contracting market.
Among its services: providing affordable office space, connecting members with industry partners, arranging personal meetings with primes and agencies, giving access to educational courses, and producing timely industry events.
