RALEIGH – Atlanta-based Data Science Connect, an organization that holds events and programs around the Southeast, is coming to Raleigh this week to host its annual Data Science North Carolina Conference.

The event is spread across two days, August 29-30, and focuses on industry-specific topics within the broader theme of AI and machine learning.

On Thursday, attendees can participate in six workshops from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. at NC State University. Sessions cover python, text analytics, blockchain/cryptocurrency, deep learning, data visualization and data science for executives.

The main conference is set for Friday at Union Station in Raleigh. It features a series of talks and panels from several longtime experts in the data science field.

The speaker roster includes executives and professionals from companies like Advance Auto Parts, GlaxoSmithKline, Microsoft, Fidelity Investments, Walt Disney, Cisco, SAS and Credit Suisse.

The presentations and panels will cover the role of data science across a variety of applications including AI, cybersecurity, fintech, healthcare, biotech and the legal industry. Attendees will also learn how they can create a diverse data analytics team and use data to inform better HR practices.

The event concludes with a job fair from 4:30-6:30 p.m.

Tickets range from $299 to $549, depending on whether the registrant wants to attend the workshops on August 29.
