RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK – Apple’s next iPhone – the iPhone 12 – is generating a great deal of buzz with one tech news site summing it up this way: The new device “will be unlike anything anyone has ever seen.”

So reports TechTimes.

“The headline-topping news is that the iPhone 12 will stand side-to-side with the MacBook Pro,” TechTimes reports.

“Apple’s line of laptop products combines elegant design with powerful machines, which is usually the choice of business-savvy individuals and on-the-go artists.”

Citing a variety of sources, including analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who is often a source for inside information, TechTimes says “exciting” new features include:

  • 5G technology
  • Long-range 3D camera
  • Time-in-flight sensors
  • Six gigabytes of RAM – twice that of the iPhone 11
  • “Refreshed” face ID

And more.

MacRumors also is touting the new phone.

Apple’s upcoming 2020 iPhones, it saysm “could be called the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro.”

The phones are expected to be unveiled in September.

MacRumors cites rumors as saying there will be:

  • Four iPhones
  • 5.4″, 6.7″, and 6.1″ sizes
  • Triple-lens 3D camera with laser
  • All OLED [organic light-emitting diode ] displays
  • 5G connectivity
  • Revamped design

Reportedly, new chips from Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company will power the phones, TechTimes adds.

“If true,” TechTimes sums up, “the features mentioned in Apple iPhone 12 leaked reports will put the company in front of the market race against other tech giants.”
