RALEIGH — Red Hat appears to have settled a sexual harassment case filed by a former female employee.
On Monday, Heather Hoover filed a “Stipulation of Dismissal with Prejudice,” dropping all claims she has against Red Hat. “Each party shall bear its own attorney’s fees and costs,” the filing reads.
Last August, she filed the lawsuit claiming her time with the company was cut short because of sex-based discrimination. ”
Hoover, who worked at Red Hat from 2015 to 2018, also alleges sexual harassment by an immediate supervisor, which escalated when she became pregnant in 2016.
In court filings, Red Hat denied any wrong-doing but declined to make further comment outside of court proceedings.
Red Hat is facing a separate sexual harassment claim by former Red Hatter Danielle Malecek, who filed her claim back in June in Durham County. A territory sales manager for Red Hat’s Ansible program who worked at the firm from 2015 to 2018, she alleges “unfair treatment due to her gender by her supervisors and co-workers.”
That case continues to be under mediation.
