CARY – Epic Games is planning to host three in-game Fortnite concerts while continuing to challenge Apple and Google over bans of the games from their app stores. And Epic has proved these concerts can big draws.

“Given the state of the world, artists are having trouble connecting with fans,” said Nate Nanzer, Epic Games head of global partnerships, in an interview with Variety. “We’re creating this platform to work with artists — big artists and up-and-coming artists.”

The concerts followup on a concert by Travis Scott that drew millions of viewers and players.

The new concert series kicks off Sept. 12 with Dominic Fikes.

“Fike is ready to bring down the house with hits from his acclaimed LP debut, ‘What Could Possibly Go Wrong,'” Epic declared in a blog post.

Epic said it will use a “brand-new, state of the art studio in Los Angeles, CA” as the venue.

Despite the Apple and Google bans, players can download Fortnite for free.

“Fortnite Party Royale is available on Android, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC,” Epic notes.

Other concerts – arists yet unamed – are set for Sept. 19 and Sept. 26.
