IBM (NYSE: IBM) and Airbnb (ABNB) said that they have settled the patent lawsuit between the companies filed earlier this year in Federal District Court in Delaware. The case has been dismissed. The terms of the settlement are confidential.

It is the second legal action IBM resolved this week.

IBM has a large campus in Research Triangle Park.

William Lafontaine, IBM’s general manager of intellectual property, said: “IBM invests more than $5 billion annually in research and development. This agreement further demonstrates the value of our intellectual property that results from this innovation. We’re pleased this matter has been resolved.”

This week IBM also agreed to pay a $24.25 million fine to resolve an FCC investigation into its involvement in the E-Rate program that provides broadband internet access to schools and libraries.
