Students from Wilmington and Charlotte to compete in virtual “Teen Mogul” competition

CHARLOTTE & WILMINGTON — In collaboration with the Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs in the school districts of Charlotte and Wilmington, along with six other city school district CTE programs, the Nick Cannon Foundation will hold a virtual competition where students will present and pitch business plans to actor and entrepreneur Nick Cannon and Shark Tank’s Daymond John.

At stake is a $10,000 first place prize.

Students ages 12 to 19 can compete in the event, which will be held this week, and is called “America’s Teen Mogul (ATM) National Student Business Plan Competition”, and will be hosted by Cannon and John.

This will be the fifth ATM competition, which also connects business partners with students and teachers to develop a strong foundation for the economic future of the nation.

At the event, students will present business plans, the products their business will produce, and the problems they’ve planning to solve.

“The nation must develop a system of regional career pathways to launch young teen entrepreneurs and middle-skill adults into good jobs with advancement potential,” said John in a statement issued by the Nick Cannon Foundation.
