Lenovo beats HP to land $60M Australian government contract

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK – Lenovo has topped rival HP for a five-year contract worth $60 million down under, being selected for a gear and services contract by the ACT, reports ARN.

The Government of the Australian Capital Territory is the executive authority of the Australian Capital Territory, or ACT, one of the territories of Australia, according to Wikipedia.

“The deed with Lenovo will ensure the ACT government will have a ready supply of technology so services to the ACT community are delivered in a timely, efficient manner,” an ACT spokesperson told ARN.

Lenovo, the world’s top seller of PCs, was selected over No. 2 HP. Acer and Dell also competed for the contract, ARN noted.
