Meaningful work that saves lives

North Carolina is ranked as one of the top places in the nation for the life sciences. More than 67,000 people make a living in the life sciences, and they live in nearly all 100 counties across the state. These jobs are growing rapidly, particularly in clinical research, diagnostic testing, and biopharma manufacturing. Some jobs in the life sciences are not just for those with science backgrounds or advanced degrees. Many people changing careers, displaced workers or military veterans are finding a rewarding career in the life sciences.

Organizations like NCBiotech, a nonprofit funded by the state, are helping to grow the life sciences ecosystem in North Carolina and facilitating connections between qualified workers and job opportunities. Many of these companies, from research and development to biopharma manufacturing
to clinical research organizations, work hand-in-hand to develop and bring the latest research and therapies to market.

NCBiotech is dedicated to transforming the life sciences in North Carolina, and North Carolina through the life sciences.
